Salem, NY-William J. Toleman, 74, of Salem, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Dade City, Florida. Born May 9, 1937 in Albany, Bill was the son of the late F. Earl and Irma (Hanna) Toleman. He attended school in Schuylerville and was a truck driver for Fort Edward Express for many years. Bill enjoyed traveling in his motor home and loved attending Gospel Music Shows. He was a longtime member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Salem where he was a past Vestryman. Bill could be seen working around the property of the church on any given day. He was a volunteer at NEWCO in Salem.
Bill is survived by his children, Sherry, Patricia, James, Anthony, Michael and Christopher; his sister, Marian Coffinger and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews & cousins.
In addition to his parents, Bill was also predeceased by a brother, Paul Toleman; two sisters, Florence Brooks and Dorothy Christensen.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 32 East Broadway Salem with The Very Rev. Gary Kriss officiating. Interment will take place at Fairmont Cemetery in Quaker Springs on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 10:00 am.
It was Bill's request that there be no calling hours.
