Salem, NY-Catherine M. Beveridge, 70, of Salem, passed away Thursday morning, February 16, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her family. Born October 30, 1941 in Granville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Helen (Carlton) Dillon. Catherine graduated from Salem Washington Academy and had worked at the Salem Nursing Home in Salem for many years before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of the Washington County Coon & Cat Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding her ATV and spending time with her two grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Catherine was also predeceased by her husband, Kenneth E. Beveridge who passed away August 12, 1977.
Catherine is survived by her two children, Herbert W. Beveridge of Salem and Michael J. Beveridge and his wife Kathy of Moriah, NY. She is also survived by a sister, Judy Dillon of Salem; two grandchildren, Samantha Manley and Cameron Wright; a niece, Michelle Dillon. Catherine also has a canine friend, Casey surviving whom she loved dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation hours on Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the McClellan-Gariepy Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem. A funeral service will take place following the calling hours at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating.
Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Salem.
Memorial contributions in memory of Catherine may be made to the Salem Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 360, Salem, NY 12865 or the Salem Vol. Fire Dept., P.O. Box 449, Salem, NY 12865.
Catherine's family wishes to thank Daniel and Donna Langlois, Dennis Wood and the nurses from Washington County Hospice for their care and comfort given to Catherine and her family.
