Terry A. Durrin, 62, of Richmond, VA, passed away Tuesday night, June 19, 2012 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Born April 30, 1950 in Granville, NY, he was the son of the late Richard and Muriel (Ennis) Durrin.
Terry attended Salem Washing Academy and played sports during his high school years. He attended the Deliverance Center in Portland, ME directed by Pastor Reynolds where he earned a Certificate in Theology.
Terry enlisted in the U.S. States ArmyNovember 3, 1969 serving during the Vietnam era where he was a Combat Engineer earning two Bronze Stars. He was honorably discharged May 5, 1972.
Terry was a truck driver for many trucking companies and traveled extensively throughout the United States. Terry was currently a truck driver for Doug Mifflin in Forsyth, MO.
Terry is survived by his wife, Peggy Person Durrin, whom he married March 21, 2009 in Richmond, VA; his daughter, Autumn Joy Durrin of Bennington, VT; step-children, Cheryl Renee Brown of Richmond, VA, Lisa Wilkins and her husband Tray of Emporia, VA, Johnny Stephens and his wife Carol of Hackensack, NJ, Nichole Price and her husband Charles of Midlothian, VA Melvin Stephens and his girlfriend Michelle of Richmond, VA, Beverly Mallory and her husband Arthur of Richmond, VA and Phillip Stephens of Aberdeen, SD.
Terry is also survived by his brothers, Nicholas Durrin and his wife Linda, Reginald Durrin and his wife Linda all of Salem, NY; half-brothers, Richard Durrin, Jr. and Peter Durrin, both of Fort Edward, NY and Charles A. Linke of Cambridge, NY; step-sisters, Susan Smith and Julia Beecher and her husband Charles of Hudson Falls, NY.
He is also survived by a grandson, Ethan Watson; nine step-grandchildren, a step great grandchild and many nieces and nephews and a very close friend, J. Marie Case of Granville, NY.
In addition to his parents, Terry was predeceased by two step-sisters, Beth Pellino and Sharon Nelson.
Family and friends may call from 5-7 pm Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the McClellan-Gariepy Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem, NY.
A funeral service will begin at 8:45 am Monday, June 25, 2012 at the funeral home followed by interment with military honors at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. The Rev. Debbie Earthrowl will officiate.
Memorial contributions in memory of Terry may be made to a charity of one's choice.
