Salem, NY-Steven L. Susee, 24, of Salem, passed away unexpectedly Saturday night, June 9, 2012 of injuries from a motorcycle accident in the Town of White Creek. Born March 10, 1988 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, he was the son of Steven R. and Melanie (Mcwhirter) Susee. Steve and his family moved to Salem about sixteen years ago and he attended Salem Washington Academy.
Steve had worked for area farms including the Russo Farm in Dorset, VT, the Barber Bros. farm in Gansevoort, NY and was currently working at the Sheffer Farm in Hoosick Falls, NY. He was an active member of the Salem Vol. Fire Dept. and worked the fireman's carnival each year.
Steve is survived by his parents, Steven R. and Melanie (Mcwhirter) Susee; his daughter, Lauren Ashley Susee of Argyle; a sister, Sabrina M. Susee and her son, Josiah Susee Bruce and two brothers, Cory Roy Susee and Joey J. Susee, all of Salem. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents, Lindsay & Viola Mcwhirter of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; his aunts and uncles, Grace Susee of Sutton, Quebec, Robin Susee of Johnstown, NY, Dennis Susee of Dorion, Quebec, Marvin Mcwhirter, Shawn Mcwhirter, Kerrie Mcwhirter, Lornie Mcwhirter and Gail Mcwhirter, all of Montreal. Steve is also survived by many cousins.
Steve was predeceased by his girlfriend, Shirley Ann Waite; his paternal grandmother, Addie Beagle and an uncle, Jonathan Lee.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, June 15, 2012 from 4-8 pm at the McClellan-Gariepy Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem, NY.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Salem United Methodist Church, 29 West Broadway, Salem with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating. Interment will take place at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge, NY.
Those who wish to remember Steve in a special way may make memorial contributions in his memory to the Salem Vol. Fire Dept., P.O. Box 449, Salem, NY 12865.
